Miramar's dramatic Entrance Hall features a 20-foot domed brick ceiling, bronze light fixtures from Spain, marble floors, oriental rugs, antique paintings from England and Italy and a magnificent set of Italian carved furniture purchased by John D. Archibald (John D. Rockefeller's partner in Standard Oil) at the 1898 Paris Exposition where it won first place. Mr. Archibald built Chinquapin Plantation in the early 1900's and then transported this furniture to the plantation. The Powder room just off of the Entrance Hall has marble walls and floors and a cherub motif with antiqued gold and silver leaf dolphin furnishings.
